North Turton Parish Council

The Parish Council came into being on 1st April 1974, following the division of the former Turton Urban District Council.

It comprises of the villages of Belmont, Chapeltown and Edgworth, along with Entwistle and Quarlton

Vacancy – Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer

Applications are invited for the position of Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer to North Turton Parish Council. This is a permanent, part-time position for 20 hours per week, to include some evening meetings, working flexibly from home and from the Barlow in Edgworth.

The Clerk provides administrative support to the Council and,as the Responsible Financial Officer, the administration of Council finances

Candidates must possess a high standard of oral and written communication skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office software (particularly Word and Excel), be capable of working independently without supervision and have the ability to deal with a range of issues. Experience in a similar role or knowledge of local councils would be an advantage but is not essential. This position is paid at NJC Scale Point 11 – £11.30 per hour.
