Parish Plan

Towards the end of 2013, the Parish Council circulated a questionnaire to all residents seeking views on what defines our villages, what it is important to safeguard, and what future development is desirable.

All 504 responses received have now been analysed, and a Parish Plan has been finalised.

 Lancashire Best Kept Village Competition

Belmont, Chapeltown and Edgworth have each been entered into the 2017 competition.
Judging took place during June, and the results are awaited.

In 2014, Belmont came 5th (out of 17 entries) in the small village category; Edgworth came 8th (out of 18) in the large village category. Chapeltown did not appear in the top eight.

In 2012, Edgworth came seventh out of 23 entries in the large village category (three places down on 2011); Chapeltown came eighth out of 22 in the small village category (the same position as 2011); at the request of the Belmont Village Residents Association, Belmont was not entered into the competition.
Edgworth Bowling Club and Edgworth Cricket & Recreation Club each received a Highly Commended certificate in 2012.
Chapeltown was the winner in the small village class in 2005, and Edgworth was the 2008 runner-up in the Large Village class.
